Baby FACS
An adaptation of the Facial Action Coding System designed for infants, accounting for the structural differences of the infant face.
Baby FACS (BabyFACS) was developed to extend FACS to infants and young children, whose facial musculature, fat pads, and proportions differ meaningfully from adults. It uses the same Action-Unit framework but with revised intensity criteria and additional codes for movements specific to infant behavior.
BabyFACS is widely used in developmental psychology, pediatric pain assessment, and neonatal-care research.
