The branch of artificial intelligence focused on detecting, interpreting, and responding to human emotional signals from face, voice, posture, and physiology.
Emotion AI — also called affective computing — combines computer vision, speech processing, and behavioral modeling to estimate human emotional states in real time. Facial Emotion AI specifically uses FACS-grounded computer vision to detect Action Units and infer affect.
Common applications include coaching feedback, clinical screening, customer-experience measurement, education analytics, automotive driver monitoring, and security and intelligence work.
