Emotion Recognition Software
An industry term for software that assigns affect-related labels or scores to facial video or images. These outputs do not verify a person's internal state.
These systems may output per-frame Action Unit estimates, category probabilities, and dimensions such as valence or arousal. Such outputs do not verify thoughts, feelings, intent, truthfulness, health, engagement, or suitability.
Evaluation should include model limitations, validation context, image-quality sensitivity, privacy, consent, governance, and whether the intended use affects people's rights or opportunities.
